Who We Are

Our vision: A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity of Saline County is part of a global nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seek to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope.

This local affiliate is funded and otherwise supported through LOCAL generosity, alone.

What We Do

Since 1998, Habitat Saline County has constructed more than 80 new homes that have gone on to benefit more than 100 Partner Families right here in Saline County.

Homeowner Interest meetings start an application process towards the selection of Partner Families, who begin a process of accumulating "sweat equity" hours and completing homeowner training classes.

The average appraised value of a new Saline County Habitat home is $140,000. These homes are sold to Habitat home buyers at cost, approximately $110,000 with a zero percent interest mortgage.

Mortgage payments for Habitat home buyers are recycled into the “Fund for Humanity” to build future Habitat homes. Families purchasing Habitat homes help build other families’ houses as well as their own.

With now TWO ReStore locations in Saline County, all proceeds benefit the local affiliate's operating budget to make affordable housing more available in our community.
